What is a Giclee?

Giclee (zhee-CLAY) - A French
word meaning a spray or spurt of
liquid.

Why a Giclee?

  • A Giclee is far superior to
    traditional means of
    reproductions
  • printed with archival quality
    inks
  • created from high resolution
    digital scans (no fading
    negatives, etc.)  
  • The outcome is almost
    identical to the original
  • More colors are used than
    with the lithograph process
  • Lower number of prints than
    older methods of
    reproductions, which
    increases the value
  • Better color accuracy than
    other means of reproduction  
  • There are no dots, colors are
    actually mixing on the page to
    create truer shades and hues
  • Giclee's are coveted by
    collectors for their accuracy
    and overall quality
